Summary: Responsible for the development and implementation of a digital communications strategy for Pathfinder, working closely with the charitable giving team to maximize online fundraising and the use of digital communications to cultivate and upgrade donors; the program teams to expand exposure of our programmatic work; and our advocacy and public policy teams to increase engagement. Manages content and/or creative and strategic leadership of a global pool of inhouse and external sources who contribute to the communications of the organization’s mission. This manager is responsible for the digital sphere at Pathfinder. S/he must provide strategic direction of creative including oversight of brand and external presence in a unified manner with other communications managers. This may include holding management and budgeting responsibilities for services rendered under your control. Appoint in-house staff who will collect digital content, secure creative, and manage external content and creative development through accessing a global pool of in-house talent and an extensive pool of digital professionals. May serve as representative of organization at executive or director level functions.

Communications Strategy Implementation: Works to be a part of a global creative team, including in-house talent, external creative firms, and freelance team members; disciplines include art direction, UX, photography, video, digital media and web. Contributes to the creation of effective and comprehensive plans for organizational marketing and communications efforts. Partners with executive leadership, business units and country offices to establish communications strategies and objectives.
Brand Management: Delivers upon a global brand management discipline and manage overall use of our brand system in the digital sphere. Collaborate with Programs and Impact Unit to develop and implement online communication strategies.
Online Fundraising: Work closely with our global charitable giving teams to execute projects like marketing campaigns, events, digital production, and other experiences.
Editorial Direction: Leads conceptualization and oversees writing, editorial, production, dissemination and publications management of communication materials (including online and email communications strategies) in support of the Pathfinder International brand strategy. Ensures consistency in the language, look and feel of all materials (including press releases) targeted to external audiences.
Communications Planning Execution: Develops and guides internal creative services, including website, social media, and print collateral materials. Oversees the creation of compelling content and design. Ensures timely production of Pathfinder’s newsletter, annual report, e-newsletter, brochures, press releases, success stories and other communications vehicles geared toward donor and or constituency building efforts. Provides marketing, communications media support for all Pathfinder initiatives.
Brand Awareness and Loyalty: Serves as overall brand manager. Represents Pathfinder at professional communications meetings, international conferences and donor events. Continually builds and maintains senior level partnerships with regional, national, and international organizations.
Research: Supports relevant market research; uses market research and revenue and marketing metrics for communications planning. Tracks and investigates new communications opportunities and applications.
Leadership, Management and Supervision: Identifies, recruits and engages marketing and communications professionals. Develops and manages the Communications budget. Contributes to the development of project proposals and budgets to ensure resources for strategic positioning and visibility efforts.
Vendor Oversight: Provides content and editorial oversight for consultants working on planning and message development, managing services for materials, designers, printers, photographers and media. Oversees and guides vendor relationships.
Project Management and Participation: Leads, manages or participates in cross functional project teams.

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, Communication, Marketing, or related field, or a combination of education and experience that yields the minimally required competencies
7 year’s work experience
Work experience with a multinational organization
Experience leading global staff and vendors
Knowledge of communications software
Prefer: Master’s degree in related field
Prefer: Experience living or working in developing countries that aids in the understanding of program context, field realities, and technical needs preferred
Travel required (at least 20%)
