The SEEP Network is a member-driven association designed to engage microenterprise practitioners to capture, process, document, disseminate and evaluate the uptake of practical field-based knowledge in support of SEEPs vision of a sustainable income in every household. SEEP organizes and facilitates learning initiatives, such as working groups and conferences, to catalyze peer learning, then documents this knowledge and shares it broadly with the microenterprise industry to improve field practice. Initially created as an association of North American-based international NGOs twenty-five years ago, SEEP is evolving into a global learning network as organizations from around the world join its membership base. The Senior Director of Programs is responsible for leading the programmatic work and learning of the organization that responds to members priorities and needs. The Senior Director of Programs will enhance and expand programs and conceptualize and develop revenue-generating products and services that will add value to SEEP members and other stakeholders. Specifically, the Senior
Director of Programs will:
Supervise All Program Initiatives
·Strategically guide all SEEP learning initiatives
·Seek synergies among learning initiatives
·Design and implement a common framework for publications from all initiatives
·Supervise Program Managers
·Effectively disseminate and monitor the application of SEEP learning products
Build the Learning Portfolio
·Implement a Communities of Practice learning model that organizes SEEP activities, member engagement, and generation of learning products under three broad categories
Financial Services, Enterprise Development and Microfinance Associations
·Create new forms of learning activities, with emphasis on revenue-generating products and services for SEEP and its members
·Increase practitioner engagement at all levels, from all countries, for all learning topics
·Represent SEEP at events and with current and potential funders
·Coordinate the development of new learning proposals consistent with member needs and SEEPs business plan
Drive Innovation
·Promote interactions among SEEP members from different fields
·Experiment with novel means to generate practical knowledge
·Drive the design of monitoring and evaluation systems and processes that contribute to improved practice and better understanding of causal links
·The Senior Director of Programs will report directly to the Executive Director, alongside the CFO and
·Director of Member Affairs and Global Communications.
Required Qualifications:
·Masters degree in business, economics, finance, development, or related field
·Minimum of seven years of successful managerial experience at a senior level as a team leader
·Consistent with SEEPs mission, proven ability to design revenue-generating products and services that increase impact, reduce the R&D cycle and improve marketing strategies
·Demonstrated capacity to leverage knowledge from practice in developing or enhancing tools, methods, and skills garnered from member innovation
·Capacity to use state-of-the art information technology and social media to advance learning, information dissemination, and innovation
·Hands-on experience in developing, promoting, and nurturing Communities of Practice or similar types of affinity groups
·Experience in monitoring and evaluation, especially as it relates to learning products
·Fluent in English
·Preferred Qualifications:
·General understanding of current trends and practice in the microfinance, microenterprise, and/or market development fields
·Experience living and working in developing countries
·Professional competency in a language or languages other than English (Spanish, French, or Arabic preferred)
